Woman Charged with Assault and Stabbing of Husband in Pleasanton

A 30-year-old woman from Pleasanton has been charged with multiple felony crimes after allegedly striking her husband with a car and subsequently stabbing him inside their home. According to court records and authorities, the woman now faces two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of corporal injury to a relationship partner. The charges include an enhancement allegation that the husband suffered great bodily injury under circumstances involving domestic violence.

The incident unfolded on Monday when the woman called Pleasanton police at approximately 12:14 a.m., claiming that she had stabbed her 33-year-old husband inside their apartment on Owens Drive. She alleged that he had attempted to assault her. Responding officers arrived at the scene and heard the husband’s cries for help from inside the apartment. The wife eventually allowed them entry. The husband had sustained a stab wound to his back, contradicting the self-defense claim made by the woman.

The husband, initially listed in critical condition, remains hospitalized. Authorities discovered that prior to the stabbing, a witness observed the couple engaged in a heated argument while driving through the apartment parking lot. The husband was later seen exiting the vehicle and walking away, at which point the woman allegedly drove their Tesla towards him. Evidence suggests that he was struck by the vehicle before seeking refuge inside their apartment, where the stabbing occurred.

The woman, who declined to provide a formal statement to the police, is currently being held without bail at Santa Rita Jail. Her arraignment is scheduled for Friday. The couple, married for approximately ten years, has four children.
