Two separate shootings in Los Angeles have resulted in injuries to an officer and two men. The first incident occurred in the early hours on Torrance Boulevard in Torrance. According to Charles Miller, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers and U.S. marshals were serving an arrest warrant for a man suspected of child abuse. During the operation, the suspect opened fire, grazing one officer. In response, the officers fired back, striking the suspect. The injured officer received medical treatment, but it is unclear whether he was released at the scene or transported to a hospital. The suspect was taken to a hospital, and his current condition remains unknown.
The second shooting took place around 3 p.m. in the Skid Row area, specifically at 6th and San Pedro streets. Tony Im, another LAPD spokesperson, stated that officers were flagged down by a person reporting an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon investigation, the officers encountered an armed man wielding a knife. Subsequently, the police fired at the suspect. The wounded man was then transported to a hospital, and his condition is yet to be determined.
