Two Men Shot in Separate Incidents in East Oakland

Two men were shot within a span of two hours on Sunday night and early Monday in different areas of East Oakland, according to authorities. Both victims are currently in stable condition, and the shootings are not believed to be connected at this time, as stated by officials.

The first incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Sunday when an 18-year-old Oakland man was shot once while sitting in a parked vehicle in the 1800 block of 105th Avenue. Fortunately, the two other individuals inside the vehicle were unharmed. Police suspect that the shooter was in a vehicle that pulled up alongside the victim’s car before fleeing the scene. The motive behind the shooting is currently under investigation, and no arrests have been made thus far.

The second shooting took place at approximately 12:37 a.m. on Monday. A 38-year-old man was found wounded multiple times outside in the 1900 block of 73rd Avenue. Police responded to alerts from the gunshot detection system and discovered the injured man lying on the pavement. He was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance. Authorities believe that more than one shooter was involved in this incident, and they fled the scene in a vehicle after the attack. The motive for this shooting remains undetermined, and no arrests have been made.

In an effort to gather information and apprehend the suspects involved in both cases, the Oakland Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering a reward of up to $5,000.
