Two individuals, a 29-year-old Antioch woman and a 27-year-old Oakland man, were shot on Tuesday night in what appears to be a possible drive-by shooting incident in East Oakland. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital and are currently in stable condition. The woman sustained a gunshot wound to the face, while the man was shot in the shoulder, according to authorities.
The relationship between the two victims remains unclear, as police have not disclosed any information regarding their connection. A woman who drove them to the hospital reported finding the injured individuals around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The victims were discovered inside a vehicle that had come to a stop in the vicinity of 98th Avenue and Golf Links Road.
Investigators have not yet had the opportunity to conduct detailed interviews with the victims, hindering their ability to gather additional information about the incident. The motive behind the shooting and any potential suspect information are yet to be determined.
In an effort to aid the investigation, the Oakland Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Oakland have jointly offered a reward of up to $10,000 for any information leading to the arrest of the shooter.
