Three individuals, including a young man and two teenagers, have been apprehended by the San Mateo Police Department in connection with a robbery that occurred near San Mateo High School last December. The incident, which took place on December 22, involved the victim being assaulted by three suspects, one of whom was armed with brass knuckles, and subsequently robbed of his jewelry. The victim sustained multiple injuries and received medical treatment at a local hospital.
Following the incident, the San Mateo Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit assumed control of the investigation and successfully identified the suspects involved. The individuals were identified as a 20-year-old man from Foster City, a 17-year-old boy from San Mateo, and a 16-year-old boy from Foster City. Arrest warrants were subsequently issued for their apprehension.
On Friday, law enforcement authorities located and arrested the 20-year-old and 17-year-old suspects in San Mateo. The 16-year-old suspect was apprehended at San Francisco International Airport. Further investigation led officers to search the suspects’ residences, where they discovered evidence related to the December 22 robbery. Additionally, an unregistered and illegal pistol, illegal drugs, evidence of drug sales, and over 1,400 pounds of illegal and dangerous fireworks were seized.
The 20-year-old suspect has been booked into county jail on multiple charges, including second-degree robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of a firearm, possession of drugs for sale, and possession of dangerous fireworks. Both teenage suspects have been booked into juvenile hall on charges of second-degree robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy to commit a crime. Furthermore, the 16-year-old suspect faces an additional charge of possession of brass knuckles.
