Troy Edwards, a well-known rapper in the Metro East region, was shot and killed during a troubling incident on the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge. The Illinois State Police reported that an unidentified assailant opened fire on Edwards, who was driving from St. Louis to Illinois, resulting in his tragic death at the age of 25, with the incident occurring shortly after 11 p.m.
Regrettably, this was not the first time Edwards had been a victim of a shooting. Approximately two years ago, he was shot multiple times, resulting in one fatality during the incident.
News of Edwards’ untimely passing quickly reverberated throughout the music industry via social media. DJ Shay Money, who had a connection with Edwards, expressed his belief in the rapper’s promising future. Money described Edwards as a joyful individual who exuded positive energy and had a penchant for sending updates about his music ventures.
The Illinois State Police reported that Edwards was traveling eastward on the bridge in a white SUV when an occupant of another vehicle opened fire. A passenger accompanying Edwards sustained injuries but was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.
As of now, no suspects are in custody in connection with the shooting. Edwards’ tragic demise has left a void in St. Louis and the rap community, with calls for an end to the ongoing violence.
