Police Chase Ends in Deadly Force in Coweta County

A police chase involving multiple agencies in Coweta County, Georgia, ended in deadly force. During the pursuit, a Coweta County Sheriff’s canine was shot but is expected to survive. The driver of the Corvette being pursued was also shot and died at the scene.

Additionally, a Coweta County deputy was involved in a crash and was rushed to the hospital. The deputy’s injuries are not life-threatening.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has taken charge of the scene on Herring Road off Hwy 29 N to investigate the shooting. Video footage shows the Corvette being forcefully stopped by deputies, and attempts were made to apprehend the driver.

Shots were fired, resulting in the death of the suspect.

The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office K9 was transported to a local animal hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
