Next Hearing Date Set for Jonathan Majors’ Assault Case

A date has been scheduled for the next hearing in the assault case involving actor Jonathan Majors. On Friday, Judge Michael Gaffey set Wednesday, October 25th as the next hearing date, according to Variety. The hearing will address the motion to dismiss the case filed by Majors’ attorneys, Priya Chaudhry and Seth Zuckermann. The Manhattan District Attorney’s office has until October 6th to respond, and the defense must respond by October 13th. Majors will be allowed to appear virtually for the October 25th hearing but will be required to attend in-person once the trial officially begins.

Majors, known for his role in Marvel’s “Loki,” was arrested in March in Manhattan and charged with assault and aggravated harassment following an alleged domestic dispute with a woman. The woman reported being assaulted by Majors and sought medical treatment for injuries to her head and neck. Majors has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

In March, the New York Police Department issued a statement regarding the incident, stating that they had responded to a 911 call for a domestic dispute. The victim, a 30-year-old female, informed the police that she had been assaulted. Majors was taken into custody without incident, and the victim was treated for minor injuries.

Majors’ legal team maintains his innocence, stating that he is the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows. They are gathering evidence to present to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped.

Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, Majors is still set to appear in the second season of Marvel’s “Loki,” which is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on Friday, October 6th.
