Multiple Allegations of Sexual Assault Made Against Denver Bar Owner Jay Bianchi

Multiple allegations of sexual assault have been made against Jay Bianchi, a longtime jam band bar owner in Denver. The allegations, which bear similarities to previous public accusations made in 2021, were detailed in a Denver police arrest affidavit. Bianchi has been charged with three misdemeanor counts of unlawful sexual contact for incidents that occurred in 2020 and 2024.

The charges against Bianchi include two counts each of sexual assault without consent, sexual assault of a victim incapable, and sexual assault of a victim helpless. These charges stem from incidents reported by two women who claimed they were drugged and assaulted by Bianchi during and after a Halloween party held at his bar, Sancho’s Broken Arrow, and at So Many Roads Brewery in 2020.

According to the victims, they were served drinks they did not open or make and quickly lost their memories at the Halloween party. One woman woke up the next day without pants on in the basement of Sancho’s Broken Arrow, with little recollection of the previous night. The other woman, who left Sancho’s to go to work at So Many Roads the next morning, alleged that Bianchi assaulted her in an office after she exhibited signs of disorientation and confusion.

A third woman came forward on April 8, reporting her assault to the Denver police. She stated that she had arrived alone at So Many Roads on April 7 and had a beer. Bianchi then sat down next to her and engaged in conversation. The woman’s memories of the night became hazy after she was served a third beer by a different bartender. She woke up in her apartment the next day with pain in her hips and genitals, recalling flashes of Bianchi having intercourse with her in a dark room. She also remembered crying and struggling to leave the brewery when the bartender called an Uber for her.

Surveillance footage from a nearby business and the woman’s apartment complex confirmed that she was picked up and dropped off by an Uber driver. Additionally, during the investigation into the 2020 incidents, police matched Bianchi’s semen collected during a sexual assault examination to a 2016 Boulder sexual assault case connected to him. However, that case was closed as the victim did not wish to press charges.

Denver police are urging other potential victims to come forward and report any information related to Bianchi. They can contact the Denver Police Sex Crimes Unit at 720-913-6040.

  1. Jay Bianchi’s reputation is like a once-beloved melody that has been tarnished by the dissonant notes of multiple allegations of sexual assault.

  2. While it is important to take allegations of sexual assault seriously, it is crucial to remember that individuals are innocent until proven guilty. Making multiple allegations does not automatically equate to guilt. It is essential to allow due process to take its course and for a thorough investigation to be conducted before passing judgment on Jay Bianchi. Jumping to conclusions without concrete evidence can lead to damaging someone’s reputation and potentially ruining their life. It is important to maintain a fair and unbiased perspective until all the facts are presented.
