Man Shot in West Oakland, Suspects at Large

A 24-year-old man was shot on Monday night in West Oakland, leaving authorities searching for the suspects involved. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, is currently in stable condition at a local hospital, receiving treatment for a leg wound. The incident occurred at approximately 7:13 p.m. in the 3100 block of Filbert Street.

According to the police, the victim was standing outside when a vehicle pulled up, and two individuals emerged, opening fire on him. After the attack, the assailants quickly fled the scene, heading southbound on Filbert Street in their car. Emergency services promptly arrived and transported the injured man to the hospital via ambulance.

Law enforcement officials discovered numerous shell casings at the crime scene, indicating a significant exchange of gunfire. Although stray bullets struck some nearby residences, fortunately, no additional injuries were reported.

The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation, as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident. Detailed descriptions of the suspects have not yet been released to the public.
