Man Fatally Shot in East Oakland

A man was fatally shot on Friday afternoon in East Oakland, according to authorities. The incident occurred at approximately 12:48 p.m. in the 1300 block of 99th Avenue. The victim’s identity has not been released by the police at this time.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the police have not disclosed any information regarding potential suspects.

This tragic incident marks the 23rd homicide being investigated by the Oakland Police this year. Comparatively, by this time last year, the police had already investigated 27 homicides in the city.

In an effort to gather more information and bring the perpetrator to justice, the Oakland Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering a reward of up to $10,000. Individuals with any relevant information are urged to contact the police or Crime Stoppers.
