A former paraprofessional at Brady Exploration High School in Lakewood, Colorado, has been arrested on multiple charges related to child sex assault and exploitation. Imagine Ewer, a 31-year-old individual, was taken into custody by Lakewood police on January 9. Court records reveal that Ewer is facing charges of child sex assault, sexual exploitation of a child, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and unlawful electronic sexual communication, all of which are classified as felonies.
The arrest of Ewer came to light on Friday when staff and families of Brady Exploration High School received an email from Jeffco Public Schools, notifying them of the incident. According to the letter, Ewer was hired as a paraprofessional at the school in August but was placed on leave on November 15. Subsequently, Ewer was terminated from her position on December 16.
Jeffco Public Schools officials explained that they followed state law in sending out the email, which required notification to the community only after the court found probable cause based on a formal preliminary hearing. The delay in notifying the community was due to the multiple postponements of Ewer’s preliminary hearing. Finally, on Friday, Ewer waived her right to a preliminary hearing. Her next court appearance is scheduled for May 28.
Ewer was released from jail on a $25,000 bail in February, as per court records.
