Florida High School Teacher Arrested for Shooting at Family Members at Tennessee Wedding

A Florida high school teacher, Cody Wiggins, has been arrested and charged with shooting at his wife and brother-in-law during a wedding at the Marriott of Cool Springs in Tennessee. The incident took place on Saturday night. Wiggins fled the scene but was apprehended shortly after in a nearby subdivision. The victims were transported to Vanderbilt Hospital, and their current conditions are unknown.

Wiggins is now facing charges of attempted homicide, domestic assault, aggravated assault, and tampering with evidence. He is being held in Williamson County Jail on a $3.5 million bond. The motive for the shooting has not been released.

Prior to his arrest, Wiggins worked as an English teacher at West Florida High School in Pensacola. In compliance with Florida law and contractual provisions, the school district has suspended him.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
