Donald Trump Returns to Manhattan Supreme Court for Third Day of Jury Selection in Criminal Trial

Former US President Donald Trump is scheduled to appear at Manhattan Supreme Court on Thursday for the third day of jury selection in his criminal trial. This historic trial marks the first time a former US president has faced criminal charges in court. The charges against Trump stem from alleged six-figure hush-money payments he is accused of making to former porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal prior to the 2016 election.

During the previous session on Tuesday, seven jurors were selected. Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, which are believed to be an attempt to conceal the payments made to Daniels and McDougal in order to keep them silent about their alleged affairs with him. The trial is expected to last approximately two months.

If convicted, Trump could face up to four years in prison. As this is a criminal trial, the former president is required to be present in court on each day that proceedings take place.

The trial is closely watched due to its significance and the involvement of a former US president. The allegations of hush-money payments and the subsequent cover-up have garnered significant attention since they first came to light. The outcome of this trial will undoubtedly have far-reaching implications.
