Authorities Seek Group of Suspects in Series of Flash Robberies in Los Angeles

Authorities in Los Angeles are on the lookout for a group of individuals believed to be responsible for a series of flash robberies that have plagued the city in recent weeks. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has labeled these incidents as “flash robberies,” where a large group swiftly descends upon a store, steals merchandise, and flees the scene. The targeted stores are primarily located in the Boyle Heights, Fashion District, and South Park neighborhoods, all within close proximity to each other.

According to a news release from the LAPD, these robberies have been occurring mostly in the evening since early March. The suspects, numbering between 10 to 20 individuals, often don hoods and masks as they rapidly enter and exit the stores. The LAPD estimates their age range to be between 15 and 25 years old, suggesting that they may be students attending nearby high schools.

While it remains unclear whether the suspects are armed, the LAPD has expressed concern over their use of force and disregard for the safety of witnesses and victims. The police have refrained from disclosing the exact number of robberies that have taken place or identifying the specific stores targeted.

In an effort to apprehend the suspects, the LAPD Organized Retail Crimes Task Force has released several images captured from security footage, seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals involved. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
