New Age Prophet Rashad Jamal Convicted of Child Molestation and Cruelty to Children

Rashad Jamal, a prominent New Age prophet with a significant online following, has been convicted of child molestation and cruelty to children. According to court documents obtained by Motherboard, a Georgia judge has sentenced Jamal to 18 years in prison and 22 years on probation, totaling 40 years. Jamal, who has a large following on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, is among a group of spiritual influencers with a strong presence on social media.

Jamal’s conviction has sparked conspiracy theories among his devoted followers, who claim that the case is an attempt to suppress his spiritual power and influence. He was found guilty of one count of child molestation and one count of cruelty to children in the first degree, while another count of child molestation resulted in a not guilty verdict. The victim of the abuse is the child of Jamal’s former partner, Darshell Smith.

Jamal, also known as Rashad White, is known for blending ideas about Black self-determination with unconventional beliefs. He claims to be a semi-divine being sent to Earth to heal the planet, promotes the idea that Black and Latino people are gods and goddesses, and spreads anti-vaccine rhetoric. His online platform, the University of Cosmic Intelligence, sells videos, crystals, and jewelry and hosts in-person mass meditations.

Several individuals associated with Jamal have been involved in criminal incidents. Yasmine Hider and Krystal Pinkins, followers of Jamal, were involved in a confrontation in a state park in Alabama, resulting in federal indictments. Another follower named Damien Washam, who lived in Alabama, is accused of killing his mother with a sword. Washam’s father stated that his son had become increasingly immersed in Jamal’s content before the alleged crime.

Jamal’s imprisonment has caused frustration among his fans, who believe powerful forces are targeting him. Online petitions seeking his release have gained traction. Jamal’s social media accounts, managed by his wife, have shared statements claiming his innocence and suggesting a larger conspiracy against him.

Jamal’s University of Cosmic Intelligence page has called on his followers to support him by purchasing his products and sending financial contributions.
