Undercover Police Officer Shot in Miami Gardens; Suspects Arrested

An undercover police officer was shot in Miami Gardens, Florida, leading to the arrest of two suspects. The incident occurred on Monday when the officer, identified as T. Terrell, was shot in the chest. Fortunately, the bullet struck his bulletproof vest and deflected onto his cheek, causing a graze wound. The injured officer was transported to the hospital, where he was treated and later released.

The shooting prompted a large-scale response, with hundreds of officers converging on the scene. Several city blocks were closed off for hours as investigators gathered evidence. Five individuals were initially detained, but two 19-year-olds, Drwan Humes and Travis Fernandez, have since been arrested. Humes reportedly confessed to firing the shots at the officer’s truck.

The undercover officer was in a red pickup truck as part of a surveillance operation related to a separate shooting incident over the weekend. Surveillance videos captured the suspects in a red pickup truck passing by, and later showed three men attempting to flee by hopping over a fence. Law enforcement officers quickly apprehended the suspects and brought them into custody for questioning.
