Georgia Authorities Probe Fatal Shooting of 21-Year-Old Bartender Brianna Long

In Remerton, Georgia, authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Brianna Long. Long, who worked as a bartender at The Pier, was shot and killed in an incident occurring outside the bar early Sunday morning.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Long and her coworkers were concluding their shift around 2:30 a.m. when an altercation erupted outside the bar, leading to the tragic shooting. Despite the presence of numerous patrons in the vicinity, the GBI has not reported any additional injuries. The gunfire also resulted in damage to several vehicles parked near the scene.

Following the incident, Long was rushed to South Georgia Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The GBI has announced that an autopsy will be conducted by their medical examiner.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is actively ongoing.

Long, remembered fondly in her obituary as a “bright light” with an infectious laughter and genuine personality, graduated from Paulding County High School in 2020. She was pursuing a degree in dental hygiene at Valdosta State University. In addition to her academic endeavors, Long was recognized as a lifeguard, a high school soccer star, and a cheerleader.

Her family and friends have been left devastated by the sudden loss. A GoFundMe campaign established to support the family has raised nearly $10,000. A public celebration of Long’s life is scheduled to be held at her former high school on Sunday.

The Pier bar, where Long was employed, expressed deep sorrow over her passing, highlighting her kindness and the love she brought to those around her.
