Columbus Police Release Dashcam Footage of High-Speed Chase Ending in Shootout

The Columbus Division of Police has released dashcam footage from a two-month-old pursuit involving three bank robbery suspects in a stolen Porsche. The high-speed chase culminated in a shootout on Interstate 70 near downtown Columbus, leaving one officer injured and one suspect, 19-year-old Abdisamad Ismali, dead.

The Porsche was stolen at gunpoint from the Byers dealership and was used shortly after in a robbery at the Fifth Third Bank. Two other suspects, Aden Abdullahi Jama, 20, and Faisal Darod, 23, fled the scene but were later captured and indicted for aiding and abetting bank robbery and the use of a firearm in a crime of violence. Both have pleaded not guilty.

The wounded officer, who remains unidentified, was hospitalized for three weeks.
