Redwood City police have successfully recovered a stolen wedding dress and apprehended a suspect in connection with the theft. The Redwood City Police Department announced on Wednesday that a concerned citizen had located the dress, which had been reported stolen on April 11. The dress has since been returned to its rightful owner.
The suspect, a 65-year-old Redwood City man, was arrested and booked into San Mateo County jail on a charge of grand theft. Last week, the police sought the public’s assistance in identifying a man captured on surveillance footage stealing packages from the front porch of a residence in the 800 block of Adams Street. Among the stolen items was the wedding dress, valued at $2,000.
Thanks to multiple tips received from residents, the police were able to identify and apprehend the suspect. In a news release, the police expressed their gratitude for the community’s support in solving this crime.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and community involvement in combating theft and ensuring the safety of our neighborhoods. The Redwood City Police Department continues to encourage residents to report any suspicious activities or provide information that may aid in ongoing investigations.
