Suspect and Female Companion Die in Fiery Crash Following Shooting Deaths of South Suburban Family

A suspect and his female companion have died in a fiery traffic crash in Oklahoma, following their alleged involvement in the shooting deaths of a south suburban couple and their two children. Nathaniel Huey Jr., 31, was identified as a person of interest in the killings of Alberto Rolon, Zoraida Bartolomei, their two sons, and their three dogs. The victims were found shot to death at their home on Concord Avenue during a wellness check conducted by Romeoville police on Sunday evening. All four victims were pronounced dead at 11:50 pm that night.

Shortly after the discovery of the crime scene, Huey and a woman linked to him were identified as people of interest in the family’s death. The woman had been reported missing and endangered on September 19. On Wednesday morning, police in Catoosa, Oklahoma, attempted to stop a car with a license plate of interest in the investigation. The driver fled, resulting in a crash and subsequent fire. Gunshots were heard, and both occupants of the car, a man and a woman, were found with gunshot wounds. The man died at the scene, while the woman was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and later died.

The relationship between the suspect and the victims has not been disclosed. Romeoville Deputy Police Chief Christopher Burne stated that the investigation is still unfolding, and there are no indications of any other suspects at this time. The Will County Major Crimes Task Force is assisting Romeoville police in the investigation. The cause and manner of death for the four victims will be determined after further police, autopsy, and toxicological reports.

The Catoosa Police Department has not provided any immediate comment on the incident.
