Super PAC Blames President Biden for Assault on NYPD Officers by Migrant Mob

A super PAC supporting former President Donald Trump has released a new ad accusing President Joe Biden of being responsible for the brutal assault on two New York Police Department officers by a mob of migrants. The ad, titled “Joe Biden’s Middle Finger,” highlights Biden’s promise to reverse Trump’s strict immigration policies and blames him for the ongoing border crisis.

Spokesman Alex Pfeiffer from the Make America Great Again, Inc. PAC stated, “Joe Biden’s open border policies are a middle finger to every law-abiding American. He has the power to stop the invasion, and yet he is doing nothing.” The ad points out that four of the migrants involved in the attack were released on no bail and subsequently fled the area. Additionally, one of the accused migrants, upon his release, made an obscene gesture towards the media covering his arraignment.

The ad also criticizes Biden’s decision to eliminate Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy, which required asylum seekers to stay in Mexico while their claims were processed in court. Biden has placed blame on his predecessor for hindering efforts to address the border crisis by opposing a $118 billion national security supplemental package released recently.

The White House has accused Trump of inciting Republican opposition to the compromise in order to maintain the border crisis as a prominent issue leading up to the November 5 election. White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates wrote in a memo, “‘Will House Republicans say ‘yes’ to more law enforcement like Border Patrol, whose union supports this bipartisan deal, or will they instead say ‘yes’ to more fentanyl and to Donald Trump’s insistence that border security be delayed?'”

House Speaker Mike Johnson and several other Republicans have voiced their opposition to the bill, arguing that it does not adequately address illegal immigration. Negotiators, including Senator James Lankford, who represented the GOP in the discussions, have accused detractors of misleading the public regarding the provisions in the deal.

The supplemental package allocates $20 billion for border security and establishes an authority to automatically reject migrants attempting to enter the US when daily crossings exceed an average of 5,000 over a seven-day period. It also introduces mechanisms aimed at swiftly processing and disposing of dubious asylum claims. Negotiator Kyrsten Sinema praised these provisions as an end to the practice of “catch and release,” where migrants are released from detention to await an asylum ruling within an overwhelmed system.

According to US Customs and Border Protection, during fiscal year 2023, a record-breaking 2.47 million migrant encounters were recorded along the Mexico frontier. In December alone, an additional 302,034 individuals were apprehended while attempting to cross the border illegally.
