A 24-year-old migrant was stabbed during a fight with another resident at a Big Apple shelter in Harlem on Wednesday, according to police sources. The incident occurred at the Lincoln Center site located at 31 Central Park North near 110th Street. Sources reveal that the victim was stabbed in the stomach and neck with an unknown object around 11:30 a.m.
The NYPD reported that the injured individual was promptly transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital by EMS in stable condition. Meanwhile, the alleged attacker was apprehended by law enforcement officers at the scene. The identity of both the victim and the suspect has not been disclosed at this time.
This incident follows closely on the heels of another violent episode at the troubled Randall’s Island migrant shelter, where a security guard was punched in the face just two days ago. In that case, two migrants were charged with assault.
