However, Schneider’s representative emphasized that all material, including stories, dialogue, and costumes, went through extensive approval processes by network executives and a standards and practices group. The statement also highlighted the presence of parents, caregivers, and friends on set, who would have flagged any inappropriate scenes or outfits.
Russell Hicks, a former Nickelodeon boss, voiced support for Schneider, stating that the producer cared about the children on his shows, even when their own families did not. Hicks emphasized the executive supervision over programming and the scrutiny applied to every aspect of Schneider’s shows.
