SAN FRANCISCO — Trevor Belmont, a 49-year-old transient, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday night after allegedly pushing a 74-year-old woman into an approaching train at the Powell Street BART station. The incident resulted in a fatal head injury for the victim, whose name has not been released by authorities. Belmont is also facing charges of inflicting injury on an elder adult likely to cause great bodily harm.
The tragic incident occurred at approximately 11:06 p.m. when the suspect pushed the woman onto the train tracks just as a Millbrae-bound train was approaching the station.
