An armed robber targeted a pizza shop in Philadelphia’s Spring Garden section on Wednesday night, making off with $2,300 in cash from the register. The incident occurred at La Gustosa, located at the intersection of 15th and Spring Garden Streets. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the robbery.
This particular location has been the site of criminal activity in the past. Two years ago, an attempted robbery at what was then Bold Pizzas made headlines. During that incident on December 9, 2021, a suspect attempted to grab the register from the clerk. However, the clerk’s 14-year-old son took swift action, retrieving a gun and shooting the suspect, critically injuring him.
In the recent robbery, police believe the suspect entered the pizza shop after three men had just robbed a CVS pharmacy at North Broad and Spring Garden Streets. The suspect managed to escape with the stolen cash before authorities arrived at the scene.
The investigation into this armed robbery is ongoing, and the police are actively searching for the suspect. The incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers faced by businesses in the area and the need for heightened security measures.
