Actor Thomas Guiry Ordered to Pay Fine for Assault and Property Damage

Actor Thomas Guiry, best known for his role as Scotty Smalls in the 1993 movie “The Sandlot,” has been ordered to pay fines totaling $757 after admitting to assault and property damage. The incident occurred in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, earlier this month.

Surveillance footage obtained by TMZ captured Guiry throwing a 35-pound dumbbell at the windshield of his neighbor’s Jeep, causing significant damage. He then nonchalantly walked back to his home as if nothing had happened. The owner of the Jeep confronted Guiry, who apologized and promised to pay for the damages.

However, the situation escalated when Guiry returned to the neighbor’s home brandishing a knife. He followed one of the victims inside the house before being confronted by her husband in the garage. Police were called, and Guiry was found standing in the middle of the street, expressing concern for his wife’s safety.

Guiry was subsequently charged with assault and battery, disorderly conduct, and malicious damaging. This is not the first time the actor has had a run-in with the law. In 2013, he was arrested for assaulting a public servant during a drunken fight at an airport in Houston.

The motive behind the recent altercation remains unclear. Guiry was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on June 2 and released the following day on $1,000 bond.

Thomas Guiry’s career extends beyond “The Sandlot,” with appearances in movies such as “Lassie” and “Mystic River.” However, his recent actions have overshadowed his past successes.
