A woman was sexually assaulted by a stranger outside a church in New York City. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Thursday at the corner of W. 26th St. and Ninth Ave.
The victim, a 37-year-old woman, was approached by a man in his 20s with a large nose ring. The man lured her to a courtyard behind W. 26th St., where he sexually assaulted her. Police officers who arrived at the scene found the woman bleeding from scratches on her back and mouth. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The attacker, described as a 5-foot-4 man with black curly hair, was last seen running east on W. 26th St. He was wearing black pants and a black shirt at the time of the attack. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
