A woman was tragically killed and a man was wounded in a shooting incident that occurred on Friday night in unincorporated Alameda County. The attack took place at approximately 9:47 p.m. on East 14th Street near 151st Avenue in the community of Ashland, situated between San Leandro and Hayward. Responding to the incident, Alameda County sheriff’s deputies and San Leandro police discovered a 47-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims received immediate emergency medical assistance at the scene before being swiftly transported to a nearby hospital. Regrettably, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The man, however, is currently receiving medical treatment for his wounds.
According to investigators, the shooting unfolded during a verbal dispute between the suspect and the victims. This incident marks the second homicide in Ashland within a span of two days, following another tragic event that occurred on Thursday near 14th Street and Highway 238.
Law enforcement authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, aiming to gather further evidence and information. As of now, no additional details have been released regarding the suspect or the motive behind the attack.
