Woman Fatally Shot at Berkeley Toyota Service Center

A 24-year-old woman, identified as Alonna Gallon by her family, was fatally shot at the Berkeley Toyota service dealership on Eastshore Highway. The incident occurred on the second floor of the service center at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Monday. Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, Berkeley Police, and Albany Police responded to the scene. The authorities confronted and fatally shot the suspected gunman within minutes of the incident.

Alonna Gallon’s mother, Yuvonda Gallon, stated that the shooter was the father of Alonna’s 7-year-old son, King Walker. Yuvonda Gallon described her daughter as a single mother who was dedicated to providing for her son. Alonna worked at the service center’s call center and held jobs at a car rental company and a grocery store.

An online fundraiser was set up to support King Walker, which raised nearly $11,000 within the first 24 hours. Yuvonda Gallon emphasized the need for community support for her grandson, who is deeply affected by the tragic loss of his mother.

Yuvonda Gallon disputed the authorities’ characterization of the incident as an act of domestic violence. She stated that her daughter had chosen not to be in a relationship with the shooter for several years and was only co-parenting with him. The shooter had recently returned to California and attempted to restart the relationship, but Alonna had no interest in doing so.

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting. Other employees present at the service center during the incident were unharmed.
