Victim Identified in Springville, Utah Shooting, Three Detained

The Springville Police Department has identified the victim of a shooting that occurred on Saturday as 23-year-old Michael Mayer. Mayer was fatally shot in his Springville apartment early Saturday morning. Despite attempts by first responders to save his life, Mayer succumbed to his injuries.

Following the shooting, a lengthy standoff took place at the apartment complex. Three individuals, including Amanda Bird, 43, were detained by the police. Bird allegedly heard yelling and multiple gunshots before one of the suspects instructed her to stay inside. She was later found hiding from first responders and refused to comply with police commands.

Bird initially claimed that one of the suspects had shot and killed Mayer, but later changed her story, stating that she felt pressured to make that statement in order to avoid going to jail. She has been booked on charges of obstruction of justice and failure to stop at the command of law enforcement.

The identities of the other two detained individuals have not been released, and they have not been officially booked by law enforcement as of Monday morning.

Please note that all charges mentioned are allegations, and all arrested individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
