Victim and Suspect Identified in Brookfield Shooting Incident

Brookfield police have identified the victim and suspect involved in a shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday. The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Sierra Alvarez, while the suspect has been identified as 35-year-old Brian McAvoy. Both individuals were residents of Menomonee Falls.

According to the police, Alvarez and McAvoy were in a relationship, although it remains unclear whether they were dating or officially married. The incident took place at a residence in the 100 block of Apple Tree Lane at approximately 2:40 p.m. on August 30.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Alvarez with gunshot wounds. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. McAvoy, the identified suspect, was immediately sought by law enforcement.

Later in the evening, around 5:30 p.m., McAvoy was found deceased from self-inflicted injuries nearly two miles away from the crime scene at Orchard Lane Elementary School. The neighborhood where the incident occurred is described as quiet by local residents.
