Vandalism Targets Columbia University Protester’s Brooklyn Townhouse

Vengeful vandals targeted the $3.4 million townhouse of James Carlson, a wealthy Columbia University protester, in a disturbing act of retaliation. The incident occurred on Monday night, as the front of Carlson’s three-story residence in Park Slope was defaced with black Stars of David, accompanied by the phrases “7-10” and “Never Again.” These references allude to the recent attack by Hamas terrorists on Israel, which took place on October 7.

Neighbors, shocked by the act of vandalism, described it as “clearly some sort of revenge.” The graffiti was promptly removed on Tuesday morning by workers who were renovating Carlson’s upscale home. The son of affluent ad executives Richard “Dick” Tarlow and Sandy Carlson Tarlow, James Carlson had actively participated in the anti-Israel takeover of Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall on April 30. During the incident, he was captured on camera engaging in a physical altercation with university janitor Mario Torres, as rioters stormed the building.

As a result of his involvement, Carlson faced multiple charges, including burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, conspiracy, and criminal trespassing. The incident has sparked concerns about the escalating tensions surrounding the protests and counter-protests at Columbia University.
