Newly emerged video footage has shed light on the arrest of Ida Ann Lorenzo, a Utah diner who made headlines after forcibly pulling down a teenager’s skirt at Sakura Japanese Steakhouse in St. George. The incident, which occurred on April 20, was captured in a TikTok video that has since garnered over 12 million views.
In the bodycam footage obtained by ABC4, Lorenzo can be seen pleading her case to the police after her arrest. She claimed that she was applauded by others at the upscale steakhouse for her actions. Lorenzo, who works for Utah Attorney-General Sean Reyes, also expressed feeling a “threat on her life” following accusations of sexual harassment made against her.
According to a police report, Lorenzo alleged that the 19-year-old had her “ass cheeks” exposed, causing discomfort to fellow diners. She stated that she approached the teenager to address the issue but was ignored. Feeling compelled to take matters into her own hands, Lorenzo admitted to pulling down the girl’s skirt from behind, emphasizing that she never touched the teen’s skin.
During her interactions with the police, Lorenzo repeatedly denied any physical contact with the teenager and justified her actions by citing the presence of children in the restaurant. However, an officer reminded her that it was not her responsibility to intervene in such a manner. Lorenzo claimed to have received a “standing ovation” from those behind her after pulling down the skirt.
In subsequent interviews, the victim expressed feeling insecure and mentally distressed due to the incident. She described the sensation of “cold hands against my skin,” initially mistaking it for a friend’s touch before realizing it was Lorenzo. The teenager also mentioned Lorenzo’s threat to involve Child Protective Services for alleged exposure.
Police confirmed that other witnesses supported the victim’s account of the incident. On April 24, Lorenzo was arrested at the St. George Police station and charged with sexual battery, a Class A misdemeanor. She was subsequently booked into the Purgatory Correctional Facility but was released after posting bail.
