The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is actively searching for an unidentified suspect who brutally stabbed a subway rider in the eye in Brooklyn. The incident occurred on Thursday at approximately 4:30 a.m. at the Bay Ridge Avenue subway station. The victim, identified as 30-year-old Nedal Kifayeh, was standing on the southbound platform when he was attacked.
According to the police, the assailant approached Kifayeh and swiftly stabbed him in the left eye before fleeing the scene. The motive behind the attack remains unknown at this time. Kifayeh was immediately rushed to NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, where he is currently in stable condition. He is scheduled to undergo surgery for his injuries.
In an effort to apprehend the suspect, the NYPD has released photographs of the individual. Described as a man with a light complexion, he was last seen wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt with a graphic, a blue Amazon vest, dark-colored sweatpants, and white sneakers. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or submit tips online at the Crime Stoppers website.
