Unconscious Man Found Dead in San Jose Business, Suspect Identified

Police responding to a report of a fight at a San Jose business early Monday afternoon discovered an unconscious man who was not breathing. Despite efforts by officers and medical personnel to revive him, the man, a San Jose resident, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 1000 block of Leigh Avenue, according to the San Jose Police.

Homicide investigators were called to the site of the killing and identified a 32-year-old suspect, Leonardo Soulett of San Jose. Police have alleged that Soulett assaulted the victim. The identity of the deceased is being withheld until his next of kin are notified. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

This incident marks the eighth homicide in San Jose this year. Over the weekend, the city experienced two other violent incidents. On Saturday night, police responding to a call found a deceased woman in a home on Arden Way. Authorities suspect her boyfriend of killing her before fleeing in a car, which later crashed, resulting in his own death. On Sunday, officers were called to a parking lot in the 3000 block of Story Road after reports of gunfire. They discovered that a gathering had taken place, during which two individuals were shot. One man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a woman sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. Additionally, it was later discovered that another woman had been dropped off at a hospital with at least one gunshot wound.
