U.S. Marshals Seek New Jersey Man Charged with Human Trafficking and Sexual Assault

U.S. Marshals are currently on the hunt for Kurt Young, a 56-year-old New Jersey man who failed to appear for his trial last year. Young, a retired corrections officer, is facing charges related to human trafficking, engaging in prostitution with a child, and sexual assault. Authorities have been searching for him since September, and are now urging the public to come forward with any information regarding his whereabouts.

The case dates back to 2019 when an undercover detective responded to an online ad and arranged to meet a 14-year-old girl at an undisclosed Atlantic City casino hotel. Tiffany Davis and Derek Ross were subsequently arrested and charged with human trafficking in connection with this incident. Further investigation revealed that Davis and Ross had been bringing the teenage girl to Young’s residence in Dennis Township for sexual exploitation.

Court documents indicate that a search warrant was executed at Young’s home in January 2020, leading to his arrest. While Davis and Ross pleaded guilty and received prison sentences last year, Young failed to appear for his scheduled trial in September.

New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin emphasized the severity of the case, stating, “A 14-year-old victim was brought to Mr. Young’s house for sex, allegedly, and we’re going to bring him to justice just as we did the co-defendants.” Platkin refrained from commenting on whether authorities believe Young is still in the area, but expressed concerns that he may be involved in similar criminal activities.
