A U-Haul truck was the subject of a high-speed chase and multiple hit-and-run incidents in Glendale, Wisconsin. The pursuit began when law enforcement attempted to stop the truck, which was reportedly involved in a retail theft. The driver of the U-Haul truck proceeded to drive in the emergency lane, weaving through heavy traffic at speeds ranging from 20 to 60 miles per hour.
During the chase, the U-Haul truck swiped two cars and crashed into a dump truck. Despite the collision, the driver continued southbound, cutting off other vehicles and causing further disruption. The pursuit eventually reached the 5100 block, where traffic was nearly at a standstill.
Law enforcement attempted to deploy Stop Sticks to halt the U-Haul truck, but were unsuccessful. The chase continued, with the truck eventually entering a construction zone. At this point, law enforcement decided to terminate the pursuit and follow the truck at regular speeds.
The U-Haul truck, described as a large box truck, was reportedly using the right distress lane and the driver was seen using a cell phone. The pursuit continued towards Capital, with law enforcement notifying the sheriff’s office about the ongoing situation.
The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
