Two individuals believed to be part of the nationwide “Felony Lane Gang” were apprehended by Springboro police on Friday morning. The arrest came after an officer noticed a vehicle with stolen license plates around 9:30 a.m. When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver fled. Following a pursuit, the suspect crashed the vehicle, resulting in no injuries. Both suspects, whose identities have not been disclosed, were taken into custody.
Further investigation revealed that the stolen license plate was used to conceal a Florida license plate. One of the arrested individuals hails from Florida, while the other is from Atlanta. Both have been transported to the Warren County Jail. Authorities believe that these individuals are connected to the multi-state crime ring known as the “Felony Lane Gang.”
The gang, which originated in Florida, is notorious for stealing identities and checkbooks from parked cars. They then utilize drive-through lanes at banks to cash fraudulent checks. Police suspect that the arrested individuals were planning to target the Hazel Woods and Clearcreek Park areas.
Law enforcement officials emphasize the importance of locking vehicles and refraining from leaving valuables unattended. They urge the public to remain vigilant in safeguarding their belongings.
