Two additional suspects, Tremont Jones and Wynisha Evans, have been arrested in connection with the murder of Philadelphia rapper PnB Rock. The investigation, which began in September 2022, initially led to the arrest of Freddie Lee Trone and his teenage son, who were charged with murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and second-degree robbery. Shauntel Trone, Freddie Lee’s wife and the stepmother of the teenage boy, was charged with accessory after the fact.
Tremont Jones, who was arrested in May, faces charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and illegal possession of a firearm. It is alleged that Jones provided the gun used in the shooting and informed other suspects of PnB Rock’s whereabouts. Wynisha Evans, also arrested in May, is charged with accessory after the fact. She is accused of driving Freddie Lee Trone to Las Vegas to evade local authorities following the incident.
Previous investigations had focused on social media posts by an individual who allegedly revealed the suspects’ location. However, further inquiries revealed that a mystery man spotted the couple entering a restaurant in South Los Angeles on September 12 and informed Freddie Lee Trone. Prosecutors believe this mystery man to be Tremont Jones, although Jones’ attorney denies this claim in a motion to dismiss.
