Two Killed, Two Injured in Police Chase Crash on State Route 176

In a tragic incident on state Route 176 in Cleveland Saturday evening, two people were killed and two others injured due to a police chase that culminated in a vehicular crash.

Officers from Parma Police Department were in pursuit of a gold Honda Accord containing three individuals. The chase, which originated in Parma, spilled over into Cleveland. Following the crash, all three occupants of the Honda and a woman from another vehicle were hospitalized. Sadly, Jibril M Allen, 21, of Chardon, and Darnell James Prince, 23, of Burton succumbed to their injuries.

Details reveal that the chase commenced around 8:15 p.m. when an officer spotted the Honda speeding and subsequently hitting a blue Honda Accord on Brookpark Road before fleeing. Although the officer briefly ended the pursuit on Interstate 480, he rejoined the chase only to find the Honda ablaze after a head-on collision with a Kia Sportage. Witnesses confirmed the Honda was driving against traffic in the northbound lanes.

The aftermath of the crash resulted in a significant traffic halt. Videos of the incident have been obtained from ODOT, with Parma Police also releasing dashcam footage. Recovered from the scene was a Glock 43 handgun from the Honda. Investigations are ongoing. This is the second fatal crash originating from a Parma pursuit within three days.
