Two Killed, One Critically Injured in Whittier Shooting

Two individuals lost their lives and another is in critical condition following a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday in Whittier. The Whittier Police Department received reports of shots fired at approximately 1 a.m. near the intersection of Lambert Road and Painter Avenue, a bustling commercial area surrounded by gas stations, fast food restaurants, and auto repair yards.

Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a man in critical condition, suffering from gunshot wounds. Shortly thereafter, two additional shooting victims were found inside a travel trailer parked in the lot of a nearby auto repair shop. Tragically, both men were pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by a Facebook post from the Whittier Police Department.

The injured individual received immediate medical attention at the scene before being transported to a trauma center, where they currently remain hospitalized. Whittier Police spokesperson Emily Armstrong stated that detectives are actively investigating the incident, emphasizing that it appears to be an isolated event and there is no present danger to the public.

While the victims and the shooter are believed to have been acquainted, the Whittier Police Department has chosen not to disclose their identities or any details regarding their relationship at this time. As the investigation progresses, authorities are working diligently to gather all pertinent information.
