Two Juveniles Indicted in Connection with Acid Attack on Children at Massachusetts Playground

Two juveniles have been criminally charged in connection with an incident that occurred in June at Bliss Park Playground in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Four children were burned by pool acid that was poured on the playground equipment. The names of the two young individuals are being withheld due to their ages.

A Hampden County Grand Jury has indicted each juvenile on four counts of assault and battery on a child with injury, four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and vandalism. The charges stem from the incident where children at the playground suffered burn-like injuries and a suspicious substance, later identified as muriatic acid, was found on three slides.

Hampden County District Attorney Anthony Gulluni expressed his shock and condemnation of the incident, stating that the community’s highest priority is to protect its children. He emphasized that whether the harm caused was intended as a prank or a malicious act, it will not be tolerated.
