At least two individuals have lost their lives and six others have been injured in a shooting incident that occurred during an unauthorized block party in Memphis, Tennessee. The Memphis Police Department confirmed the tragic incident, stating that a total of eight victims were involved, with two fatalities at the scene. Earlier reports had indicated that 16 people had been shot, but the updated statement clarified the number of victims.

According to the authorities, one of the injured victims remains in critical condition, while another has been released from medical care. The block party, which was being held without a permit, drew an estimated crowd of 200 to 300 attendees.

Memphis Police interim chief Cerelyn Davis, as reported by CBS News, revealed that at least two suspects are being sought in connection with the shooting. Davis emphasized that the investigation indicates multiple individuals firing weapons during the incident.
