Two American soldiers stationed in Germany have been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing incident at the Säubrenner fair in Wittlich. The soldiers, aged 25 and 26, were taken into custody on Sunday following the incident, as reported by German news outlet Deutsche Welle. The victim, a 28-year-old German man, was found deceased on Saturday morning.

Witnesses observed two men and two women fleeing the scene. The suspects are currently being held in custody while the investigation is ongoing. An autopsy revealed that the victim had sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body, resulting in fatal bleeding.

Both suspects have denied any involvement in the crime, claiming they were merely visiting the fair with friends. A knife was discovered in the nearby Lieser River, although it has not yet been linked to the killing. The local authorities expressed their condolences and emphasized their commitment to a thorough investigation.
