The bodies of Robert Fakler, 52; Adam Fuehrer, 42; Bill Cobb, 50; and his wife Lois Cobb, 45, were found in the RJR Maintenance and Management offices in Mandan, ND on April 1, 2019. During the early morning hours that day, all four had been shot and stabbed in the shop and the front office of the building. Investigators arriving at the scene noted the brutality of the killings as the victims suffered more than 100 total stab wounds, many of which specifically targeted vital organs.
Surveillance footage taken from RJR and surrounding businesses captured a man driving a white Ford F-150 around the time the four were killed. This man was identified as Chad Isaak, who was arrested April 4. At that time, police found clothes in Isaak’s dryer that looked like the clothes worn by the man in the video.
Isaak was charged with murder and stood trial in 2021. While he maintained his innocence, Isaak was convicted. Isaak was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole.
