On February 13, 2017, Abigail Williams, 13, and Liberty Rose Lynn German, 14, went out for a walk just west of the Hoosier Heartland Highway. At 2:07 p.m., German posted a photo of Williams on Snapchat. They were hiking on the Monon High Bridge Trail, which is part of the Delphi Historic Trails in Delphi, Indiana. The girls failed to meet German’s father at the agreed upon pickup point. Relatives reported Williams and German missing later that day.

Authorities initiated a search. The following day, the girls’ bodies were found half a mile from the Monon High Bridge.

A grainy image of a man walking along the bridge where the girls were last seen was released to the public on February 15, 2017. On February 22, authorities also released a video clip found on German’s phone. In the clip a man could be heard saying “down the hill.” Williams’ and German’s cause of death has not been released.

On October 28, 2022, Delphi man Richard Allen was arrested on 2 counts of murder. No further information has been released. His pre-trial will commence January 13, 2023.

Abigail and Liberty’s bodies were found about 0.5 miles east of the abandoned Monon High Bridge and were about 50 feet from the north bank of Deer Creek. 40.589565, -86.640308 REWARD – https://www.wrtv.com/news/delphi/delphi-murders-reward-up-to-325k-after-anonymous-donation https://www.google.com/maps/place/40%C2%B035’22.4%22N+86%C2%B038’25.1%22W/@40.589565,-86.6424967,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x52019e6e0a9408ff!8m2!3d40.589565!4d-86.640308
