Colleen Walker was attending a party in the Aboriginal community of The Mission on Sept. 13, 1990. This was the last time she was seen alive. Witnesses last report seeing the 16-year old walking away from a group of people. The next day her father reported her missing. Walker has not been found. However, some of her clothes were later discovered weighted down by a rock in the Nambucca River.
While Walker’s body was never found, her death is considered a murder. She is one of three people who either disappeared or were found murdered following parties in the Bowraville neighborhood. While a suspect was tried, and subsequently acquitted, in the other two killings, one has not been named in Walker’s death. It is currently unsolved.
