In 1999, Angel “Tony” Torres got on a bus from Framingham, Massachusetts to Biddeford, Maine and never returned. Torres was majoring in business and psychology at Framingham State University. According to friends, he sold drugs on the side. Police say he was headed out of town for a drug deal that went awry.
Adding to the mystery, however, was that Torres was friends with a young woman who was murdered several years beforehand. Her killers were never caught, but Torres told his parents that he knew who committed the crime. They believe their son was the victim of a hate crime, perhaps by the hands of the same people who murdered his friend, and that those with information on the whereabouts of Torres’ remains are too scared to come forward.
Torres has never been found.
