The body of Andrea Flenoury was recovered from the Ohio & Erie Canal in Akron, OH, at about 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 7, 2005. Flenoury, 21, had been wrapped in chains and thrown into the water after being strangled to death. She was pregnant at the time she was murdered. The autopsy reported her death occurred in the early morning hours of Aug. 7 or the night before. Police had little to go on in the case, which quickly went cold. The father of her unborn child was considered a suspect and brought in for questioning, but he was cleared. The case remains unsolved.
